And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
– Galatians 6:9-10
Over the years, we cannot but praise God for the work He has done in our lives and in the life of our local church body! The good Lord has shown us grace upon grace in our first years as a congregation. He has blessed us with more than we need, and it is our turn as a local church to use these resources given us to show mercy and grace to others.
The mission of MGMercy is to fulfill our calling as a church body to provide for those who have physical and spiritual need, starting within the church and reaching beyond the church.
Below is a short summary of different ministries with which we are currently involved with. Also look forward to special events, such as fundraisers, care package gifts, and other church-wide activities throughout the year. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact Carson Wong (email@example.com).
The MGC Storehouse is a way to donate new clothing, toiletries, and other material goods to help those in need, within the church community and to partnering ministries/organizations, such as the Homeless Outreach, Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center, and Bergen Family Center.
Lighthouse PRegnancy Resource Center
The Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center provides parenting support, counseling, and referrals for those facing unplanned pregnancies in the north Jersey area. Their vision is to support women, men and teens in pregnancy-related crisis toward life-affirming choices. We support the work and mission of this ministry both financially and with volunteers.
The homeless outreach (Mercy in the Streets) exists to make much of Jesus by serving the "least of these" (Matthew 25:34-46). The goal is to spread the gospel and to obey Jesus in helping the poor and marginalized. We go to Jersey City quarterly throughout the year to give care packages in backpacks, filled with basic toiletry and snack items, such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, and granola bars. We also provide a Bible so that each person has access to God's word. We pray that those who hear the gospel would believe and receive the good news!
Operation Christmas Child
A ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child is a seasonal international charity whose mission is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ together with the local church worldwide. We will be involved in packing age-and-gender-specific shoeboxes with materials, such as toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, which will be sent with a Gospel-teaching material to children around the world.
Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of prison inmates and their families with the love of Christ by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners. As a church, we are looking to sponsor children by personally delivering to them Christmas gifts on behalf of their incarcerated parent and sharing the Gospel with them.
