MGYouth is the youth ministry – 6th to 12th grade students - of Maranatha Grace.

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (The Apostle Paul – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

“Christ-centered youth community.”

Jesus Christ is at the heart of our vision as a local church and as a youth ministry. We seek to make much of the Gospel, the good news of the one and only Jesus Christ who lived the sinless, perfect life; on the cross, He died the substitutionary, atoning death for sinners like you and me; and He rose again in glory and power. We seek to be genuine Christians who run against the consumerist ethos, die to self as we count the costs of discipleship in the days of youth in the context of community, specifically the local church. We strive to be a community of believers who are distinct as a group, but are united as a church body locking arms in Biblical fellowship, discipleship and service with one another.

“To glorify God: by preaching and applying the Gospel, by bridging the youths and their families to and within the local church, and by discipling youths from knowing about God to knowing God – all done because and through the grace of God.”

We desire to ease students’ transition from MaranathaKidz to the youth group and to welcome students from all walks of life; that is why we seek to develop relationships with parents and children starting from MKidz and also seek to engage in outreach opportunities. We believe that the local church is the appropriate context in which the youth may grow in relationship with Jesus Christ, their families (immediate and church), and friends (brothers and sisters in Christ and those who do not yet know Christ). That is why we emphasize our unity as a local body and yet maintain our distinction as a youth group:

On Sundays, we join the rest of our church family in the Corporate Worship Gathering to worship the risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

On Fridays, we gather as a youth group for our weekly Youth Nights, which takes place at 360 Sylvan. Youth Night starts at 7:30PM and ends at 10:00PM. During our meeting, we catch up, “break the ice” with games, sing praise songs, hear a message/teaching, and participate in small groups. Light snacks and refreshments are served.

We believe that trust, among students, parents and volunteers, is vital. Therefore, we seek to cultivate a culture of communication, transparency and safety. We strive to keep everyone informed, to be straightforward/open and to hold volunteers accountable to a high standard/history of commitment and of service within the church in addition to elder(s)’ approval/recommendation, membership & continued good standing. We serve to complement, not replace or usurp, parental authority in training their children in the knowledge of the Gospel, the Bible, basic theology, and the essentials of Christian living. As a result, we teach the Bible, we disciple, we share our lives, we equip the students to serve, and we embrace the support of parents, the elders and the church in the process.

These are all done because of and through the Gospel for the glory of God, not so that we can produce “good Christian youth” or to fulfill a salvation quota, but so that God may do whatever He wills to do and that He may receive the maximum glory, honor and praise because it is not about us, but all about the life and death of His one and only Son – the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, ‘I have no pleasure in them’” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
